Other People’s Children

Monday Morning Coffee ©️

Happy Monday people!
Did you all celebrate your mothers yesterday?

Today I honour a different kind of motherhood; women whose daily decisions inadvertently affect the lives of ‘other people’s children’.

To the women who work as social workers, teachers, doctors, nurses, policy makers and politicians, the lives of other people’s children are in your hands; children who may never have the opportunity to thank you or buy you roses!

As a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist the clinical decisions I make daily have far reaching implications for the lives of the children I see in my clinic and often I ask myself….’’Have I done my best for this child?”

The Hebrew midwives spared the lives of the baby boys they were ordered to kill. They were women who feared God. (Ex 1:17)

Are we also working to ensure a better outcome for other people’s children?

We are midwives of destiny!…..One day we will give an account!

  1. As a CAMHS social worker i pray for God’s leading on a daily basis for this reason. I also pray that whilst we do the best for other people’s children, God leads others to do their best for our children. Thank you Dr Yetti
