The Bitter Pill!

Time to swallow the bitter pill!

Happy Monday people!

This morning I am serving your morning coffee with a cocktail of pills.

There are the sugarcoated multivitamins, and the bitter nausea-provoking antibiotic capsules you’d wish you did not have to take but you know are the most important!

Relationships are like a cocktail of pills, the good, the bad and ugly (nasty). The condescending boss, the domineering husband or nagging wife, unruly teenagers, obnoxious in-laws, and the two-faced friends; the lovely people the Lord put in our lives for a time and season to teach us patience…. Oh! That magic word!

Apostle Paul spoke of a thorn in his flesh, could that have been a toxic relationship?(2Cor 12:7)

This morning check your medicine box

……..you may find the pill called Patience!

Happy reflection!

The Big Gamble!

Monday Morning Coffee©
Happy Monday people!

Have you been in a situation where the fuel gauge is flashing on the dashboard and there is no gas station in sight?

One morning l jumped into my car to find the fuel gauge dangerously close to empty, I took a gamble between getting my girls to school on time or stopping by the gas station to fill up, thankfully my gamble paid off!

The five foolish virgins also took a big gamble by not taking extra oil for their lamps…… and missed the appointment with the bridegroom! (Matt 25)

Keep the lamps on your prayer altars burning people!

It’s a long journey and we don’t know when the Lord will appear!

Don’t get caught out with an empty tank!

Do it Now!

Monday Morning Coffee©Happy Monday people!

This morning I want to share my dentist story with you. The dentist has never been my friend; the vibration and sound of the dentist’s drill always send me into a frenzy of panic!

Some years ago, an old filling in one of my back teeth fell out, but I ignored it. As time went on all the adjoining fillings began to fall out one by one until there was a big crater, and last Thursday morning I woke up with the worst toothache imaginable. I rushed to the dentist!

When we leave things too late; we face the consequences. Oftentimes a simple apology is all that is needed to salvage an important relationship, but we keep putting it off until things become irreconcilable.

Settle matters quickly with your adversary while you’re still on the way ….Matt 5.25

Is there something you keep putting off too?

By the way my dentist says I may lose all my back teeth! …… I am now praying for a miracle!

Make it Count!

Happy Monday people!

The events of the last few weeks are constant reminders that just when we feel we have things under control, our lives can be turned upside down in an instant.

My post today is dedicated to the memory of those who lost their lives in the 9/11 attacks sixteen years ago.

I was in New York exactly one week ago and I visited the 9/11 Memorial site. There were over three thousand names etched on the marble memorial stones; a poignant reminder that at the end of it all we will all just be names on a gravestone!

What was meant to be a normal working morning had sadly turned out to be a tragedy of monumental proportions.

It was an extremely emotional visit, and I left with the resolve to make each day I have left on this earth count for God and eternity.

How about you?

‘Stormy’ Reflections!

Monday Morning Coffee©

Happy Monday people!

This morning let’s reflect on the devastation caused by the recent hurricane Harvey and spare a thought for the families displaced by this terrible storm.

Storms are part of life, and spring on us without warning like a thief in the night, we are never prepared, and our trust in God does not grant us immunity.

Storms have a way of reminding us of what matters most. None of the evacuees was mourning the loss of a Hermes or Louis Vuitton bag, they were just grateful to be alive.

Storms pry from our hands the very things we struggle to build; million dollar homes are gone in seconds.

Storms show just how exposed and vulnerable we truly are; like sitting ducks in the firing line!

God never promised us a life without storms but He will be our shelter in the storm.

What’s your own ‘stormy’ reflection?

Not on the Agenda?

Monday Morning Coffee©
Happy Monday people!

The year is rapidly rolling to a close and for most of us it has been a year of twists and turns, far from what we had planned; but we are not alone.

Joseph’s dream also involved several dramatic twists and turns, but God had an agenda.

Hannah had a burning desire for a child, but she too had to wait because God had an agenda.

Mary’s wedding plans were interrupted because God had His own agenda.

When life happens, remember it’s God’s agenda, not ours!
