Happy Monday people! People with selective memory tend to focus on the negative events in their lives and forget the good times. Selective memory often leads to ingratitude.
After their supernatural rescue from Egypt, the children of Israel grumbled at the very first sign of difficulty; they threw a huge tantrum like a dog who lost a bone! Sadly they had forgotten so soon.
Today most Christians are grumblers, committing the exact same sin. We focus on our immediate wants and forget how God has preserved our life and met our needs all these years.
Grumbling is contagious, and sadly we are now raising a generation of grumblers; children with an ultra-sense of entitlement!
Have you also forgotten so soon? Look! ….See God’s footprints all over your life….And show some gratitude!
This morning I want us to reflect on the story of the two sleeping prostitutes in 1 Kings 3:16-21. One slept so deeply she rolled onto her baby crushing him to death, the other was so deep in sleep too that she did not know when her baby was swapped.
Here we have two careless, prayerless, watchless mothers…. Sleeping on duty!
That night while men slept, the enemy came in and planted weeds among the wheat and then he slipped away.
Parents arise and return to your prayer altars; the devil is working overtime killing children and exchanging their destinies. We are dealing with a slippery enemy!
Happy Monday people!
What are your plans for February? For several years the Lord was nudging me to start a big project, but I kept putting it off because all I could see were my own limitations and the obstacles that others had put in my way.
I kept procrastinating until the Lord reminded me of Zaccheus the tax collector a very determined short man who ran ahead of the crowd in his bid to see Jesus, but when his height got in the way, he did the next best thing….he climbed up the Sycamore tree!
Desperation and motivation are two attributes that will propel us in the direction of our dreams.
Have you been planning to start that business, write that book, apply for that job or mend that relationship?
Are you as desperate as Zaccheus? It’s time to climb your Sycamore tree!

Did you wake up this morning wondering how things got this bad? Do feel your world is caving in? Are you trying to claw your way out of a hole, but sinking even deeper still? Well my friend, you are not alone.
The Syrian army once set up a siege around Samaria. The situation was so dire that mothers were forced to eat their children! One night God caused the Syrians to hear a strange noise and the Israelites transitioned from abject lack to surplus overnight!
