Selective Memory

Monday Morning Coffee©️

Happy Monday people!
People with selective memory tend to focus on the negative events in their lives and forget the good times. Selective memory often leads to ingratitude.

After their supernatural rescue from Egypt, the children of Israel grumbled at the very first sign of difficulty; they threw a huge tantrum like a dog who lost a bone! Sadly they had forgotten so soon.

Today most Christians are grumblers, committing the exact same sin. We focus on our immediate wants and forget how God has preserved our life and met our needs all these years.

Grumbling is contagious, and sadly we are now raising a generation of grumblers; children with an ultra-sense of entitlement!

Have you also forgotten so soon? Look! ….See God’s footprints all over your life….And show some gratitude!

Good morning.

The Odd Man Out

Monday Morning Coffee©️

Happy Monday people!
Are you easily swayed by popular opinion or do you have a mind of your own?

In the wilderness the Israelites followed the direction of the cloud. When the cloud moved, they moved. They had no control over the timing of the cloud; they just obeyed!(Exodus 40:38)

Today we are led by the Holy Spirit and our opinions may be misunderstood and unpopular. Following the crowd is often an easier option, but remember it was the crowd the screamed”Crucify Him!”

This week be prepared to be the odd man out!….The lone voice!

Wake Up!!

Monday Morning Coffee©️

Happy Monday People!

This morning I want us to reflect on the story of the two sleeping prostitutes in 1 Kings 3:16-21. One slept so deeply she rolled onto her baby crushing him to death, the other was so deep in sleep too that she did not know when her baby was swapped.

Here we have two careless, prayerless, watchless mothers…. Sleeping on duty!

That night while men slept, the enemy came in and planted weeds among the wheat and then he slipped away.

(Matt 13:25)

Parents arise and return to your prayer altars; the devil is working overtime killing children and exchanging their destinies. We are dealing with a slippery enemy!

Wake Up! ….Time to bend your lazy knees!

Climb Your Sycamore Tree

Monday Morning Coffee©️

Happy Monday people!
What are your plans for February? For several years the Lord was nudging me to start a big project, but I kept putting it off because all I could see were my own limitations and the obstacles that others had put in my way.

I kept procrastinating until the Lord reminded me of Zaccheus the tax collector a very determined short man who ran ahead of the crowd in his bid to see Jesus, but when his height got in the way, he did the next best thing….he climbed up the Sycamore tree!

Desperation and motivation are two attributes that will propel us in the direction of our dreams.

Have you been planning to start that business, write that book, apply for that job or mend that relationship?

Are you as desperate as Zaccheus? It’s time to climb your Sycamore tree!

Return to Joy

Monday Morning Coffee©️

Happy Monday people!

Did you wake up this morning wondering how things got this bad? Do feel your world is caving in? Are you trying to claw your way out of a hole, but sinking even deeper still? Well my friend, you are not alone.

The Syrian army once set up a siege around Samaria. The situation was so dire that mothers were forced to eat their children! One night God caused the Syrians to hear a strange noise and the Israelites transitioned from abject lack to surplus overnight!

(2 Kings 6:24 -7:19)

Breathe!….Joy is coming to your home too!

The opportunity of a lifetime is one that occurs only in the lifetime of that opportunity. Today I serve your coffee with a dose of soul-stirring truths.

We must make use of every opportunity God gives us in a timely manner. Procrastination is deadly!

When Noah was building the Ark the people thought he was crazy. One day Noah walked into the Ark and the door was shut….the people had missed the boat!

Five foolish virgins went to buy more oil, while they were gone the bridegroom arrived….they had missed their chance!

One day the trumpet will sound! This is one opportunity no one must miss!…..Will you be ready?….The clock is ticking!

A Risk Worth Taking!

Happy Monday people!

Attention! Risk takers!

Last year a close friend left a thriving family business to launch into something new. The huge risk paid off and today she is enjoying the adventure.

At the end of 2015, I also made a bold decision to trust the Lord and walk onto uncharted waters, today I am walking in my purpose without regret.

If Peter had not stepped out of the boat he would never have known he could walk on water!

Are you ready for some adventure?

Take the risk! ….You too can walk on water!
