Choked by Stuff?

Monday Morning Coffee©️

Happy Monday people!

It has been an honour to serve your Monday Morning Coffee each week of 2019. Thank You!

Two quick questions!

What are the precious possessions you simply can’t do without? What if you lost them all in one day?

“A mans life does not consist of the abundance of his possessions”. Like 12:15

To be brutally honest, most of us are prisoners of our stuff! Some are tidy and organised hoarders and collectors who never make the headlines!

There is a sense of freedom and simplicity that comes with living minimally. You will certainly have more disposable income, your mind will be free to think and plan ahead and you will make space for loving God and others.

As we coast into a new decade, let’s travel light so that we may go further.

Don’t let your possessions choke the life out of you!

Let go! ……Make room for more of God!

Christmas Blues

Monday Morning Coffee©

Happy Monday people!

In our mad rush to get things ready for Christmas, let’s keep an eye on the budget and not lose sight of the essence of the season.

Please don’t let what should be a time of great joy become marred by hurt feelings, anger, jealousy and bruised egos. (If we got the wrong gift or our gift was not appreciated!)

Jesus is the best gift we can ever receive or give!

Don’t put Jesus in a box with the unwanted gifts or leave Him unwrapped under the Christmas tree!

…..Say ‘No’ to Christmas blues this year!

Merry Christmas 💖

Where’s Your Gratitude

Monday Morning Coffee©️

Happy Monday people!

“When you take note of the things you are grateful for, you lose sight of the things you lack.” – G. Kent

We put up our Christmas tree this weekend and I like to be the one to put the large gold star on top of the tree at the end. I would always say a prayer of gratitude as I carry out this yearly ritual and my girls would call me a drama queen.

Putting a star on a Christmas tree may not seem like a big deal, but when you think of the countless families who sadly will be spending Christmas without their mothers or fathers this year then indeed it is a “Very Big Deal!

Count your blessings……Show God some gratitude!

A Tale of Two Workers

Monday Morning Coffee©️

Happy Monday people!

Are you in a permanent role or contracting? There is a huge difference.

As a contractor every hour counts! Holidays and sickness could be costly and in winter when trains are cancelled, it could mean a loss of income!

In a permanent job you are more relaxed. You take time off if you are ill, you have paid holidays, and if your office is closed due to severe weather you happily climb back into bed!

Now it gets interesting! Perhaps if we develop that contractor work ethic with God, ready to serve Him come rain or shine, we will achieve more for the Kingdom!

….So how have you “served” in 2019?

Show Me Your Feet

Happy Monday people!

How proud are you of your feet?

Jesus demonstrated his willingness to serve others by performing the lowliest of tasks; washing the disciples feet!

The disciples might have been embarrassed by the state of their feet; those corny toes, bunions, cracked heels, ingrowing toe nails and moist feet. Simply put….very smelly feet!.

What did Jesus think when he saw those feet? Imagine performing this task for twelve grown men!

This week we may come across the nasty, scornful, selfish, conniving and the wicked, but God still demands that we love the unlovable.

Get ready to wash some smelly feet too!

It Matters

Monday Morning Coffee©️

Happy Monday people!
This morning your coffee is served hot, and sprinkled with a dose of hard truth, inspired by a message preached by my pastor Tim Roberts yesterday.

It matters how we live.
It matters how we love.
It matters how we give.
It matters how we pray.
It matters what we say.

Most of us never bother to read the fine print, but the things we think don’t matter truly matter to God. Yes! The fine print matters!

There are four scary words we don’t want to hear at the end of our sojourn on earth
….”I never knew you”

It’s time to start living intentionally.

Happy Reflection.
